The first of our new generation of TMTS (Thermo-Mechanical Treatment Simulation) systems has been completed and is being delivered to ArcelorMittal.
This system configuration combines the latest incarnation of our industry-proven TMTS system design with the powerful Pulsar digital servo-control platform.
The TMTS software has been rewritten from the ground up to benefit from many of the advanced features built-in to Pulsar. In addition to significantly enhanced test automation facilities, provided via the EZflow test sequencing software, the control system connects to a standard Windows 7 operator PC workstation via a simple USB connection.
Thermo Mechanical Treatment Simulation systems enable elevated-temperature, multi-pass, high-rate deformations to be conducted with heating or cooling sequences between each deformation. These machines provide vital data for the investigating the material properties of hot-rolled metals and for fundamental research into the forging process.
