Steering assembly durability test rigs
Aimed primarily at durability testing Servotest can offer a broad range of steering test rig solutions. These can be used for testing both hydraulic and electric power assisted systems and associated components whether for passenger cars or for commercial vehicles.
Experience developed over many years enables Servotest to offer systems providing three-, four- or five-axis of loading. Options are also available for environmental conditioning of key system components.
The latest generaion of systems (shown below) is easily reconfigured to suit a wide variety steering assembly geometries. Precision transducers are invorporated into the test rig to allow steering system characterisation in parallel with durability testing. Integration of vehicle data systems, such as CAN bus can provided on a custom basis to based upon specific customer requirements.
All Servotest steering test rigs take advantage of the many powerful features provided by the Pulsar multi-channel digital servo-control system. These include options for running either block-cycle loading or time-history road-load data by utilising the power of the EzFlow test sequencing software and ICS control/analysis capability. Control system upgrades for existing Servotest and third-party steering assembly test rigs are also available.
